I really enjoyed the intro. Now that I've watched it many times, I realize that the episode had many qualities that set the level pretty high for the rest of the show. The pilot was good. I am fond of the scene at the beginning where Raenyra is riding Syrax, we can appreciate the CGI effort with the movements and the shadows. Something I found less qualitative in season 2. Also, one of the weaknesses that is not really visible here is the choise of point of view of the camera. I have to admit also that the costume choices were perfectly chosen. We can see that they are simpler and less elaborate than the ones from GOT, if you remember one of the Tyrell girl's awful dress in S2, where she has to walk with it for 2 episodes, dear lord, something must be done for that aesthetic choice. Anyway, the feud between the two visions of a warrior/knight between Criston and Daemon is enjoyable during their fight; however, I have a bit of difficulty appreciating how Alicent, even as a teen, loved to gossip about other high nobility women. Isn't it a sin itself, badmouthing others? I don't think she was so moral from the start, and she grew up learning how to evolve in an environment full of influences under the direct/indirect influence of her father. Anyway, for me, season 1 and its starts are a masterpiece.
